MRS Private Investor Services™ offers
a direct-trading facility and investor services
for clients who are referred by independent
dealers and financial advisors who are not
licenced to offer or advise on equities or
certain fixed-income securities.
Your financial advisor will continue to provide you with advice on mutual funds, financial planning, and all the services integral to your ongoing relationship. To complement the services offered by your financial advisor, MRS Private Investor Services offers you the ability to hold, purchase, and sell individual equities and fixed-income securities.
Unless specifically licensed, your financial advisor cannot offer or advise you on individual equities or certain fixed-income securities. In this situation, the role of your financial advisor is limited to referring you to MRS Private Investor Services. His or her role must be both passive and ancillary to his or her primary business.
When referring you to MRS Private Investor Services, you can expect your financial advisor to provide you with MRS Private Investor Services literature and connect you with MRS in one of the following ways:
- your advisor may present you with MRS Private Investor Services literature and an Investor Agreement; and,
- provide the telephone number of an MRSSSI Investment Representative at MRS Private Investor Services; or,
- direct an MRSSSI Investment Representative at MRS Private Investor Services contact you; or,
- with your consent, complete a referral card and forward it to MRS Private Investor Services.
